The Headless Horseman and the Banshee
This is the Headless Horseman in the Carriage who went through
the Wall in the Castle in Ireland and he said, "Leave the emerald Isle
or you may lose your Head!".
And that's a Banshee of Loch Lomond who was wailing
something was terrible happened.
The Headless Horseman and the Banshee were Ghosts
in Ireland in Ducktales Episode called "Luck o the Ducks".
I just looked up Headless Horseman in Wikipedia and found out that the Irish headless horseman is called Dullahan. Sometimes he rides a horse but sometimes he drives the carriage that comes for a person's soul when that person dies. In Darby O'Gill and the Little People, first the Banshee screams and then the Dullahan comes with his carriage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3puv9rPCNA
ReplyDeleteIreland is called "the emerald Isle" because the trees and grasses are very green, but that's not what the word means. It used to be "Eire," without "land" tacked on the end. And "Erin" is a name that comes from "Eire." Some people say "Eire" means "westward Isle" and others say it comes from the name of an Irish goddess: Eiru.
I don't think I've seen the Ducktales episode "Luck O the Ducks."
